SAEISS Aerospace Development Council and SAEISS Aero Design Challenge Committee conducts a Technical Aircraft Design workshop available to teams registered for SAEISS Aero Design Challenge 2019 competition at no cost. The Technical Aircraft Design workshop contributes 100 points per team. The workshop will be conducted in all 6 divisions of SAEISS. Teams failing to attend the workshop in their respective division will lose 100 points. The 100 points will be divided by the number of team members and the team will be losing points for the workshop depending on the unattended individual.

The objective of the workshop is to train the teams to understand the theory behind the functioning of aircraft, aircraft design and UAV fabrication.

Workshop Highlights:

  • Fundamentals of aeronautics (Basic Physics, Aerodynamics, Wing Design, Propulsion System, Stability).
  • Instrumentation in an RC Aircraft

  • Design Tools Overview.
  • Fabrication of Coro Plast RC Plane.
  • Flight testing of fabricated model.
  • Unmanned Aerial Vehicle demonstration by organizers.
