STUDENT CONVENTION 2016-17 Vote of Thanks
Good Evening Ladies & Gentlemen.
It is my pleasant privilege and great joy to offer vote of thanks on behalf of SAEINDIA Southern Section.
I extend my special thanks to Mr.R.Sridhar, Sr.Vice President, and Mahindra & Mahindra for gracing this occasion with his presence and inspiring the audience with his powerful words. Thank your sir.
I also thank Mr.Aravind Raman, General Manager, BOSCH for inaugurating the 11th National student convention and his insights on future automotive trends.
I am thankful to Chairman, SAEINDIA Southern Section and President of this function Mr.S.Sriraman, Sr.Vice President, TAFE for his inspiring leadership which keeps us moving on day to day basis. Also special thanks to Mr.S.Shanmugam, Vice Chairman, Dr.E.Rajasekar, Secretary, Mr.Kasiraja – Treasurer and other Management Committee members of SAEINDIA Southern Section for the periodic reviews and motivating organizing committee members to bring the best in every one of us. Thank you sirs.

It has been our great pleasure to host 11th National SAEINDIA Student Convention at Kongu Engineering College. Thanks to the Correspondent Thiru A.Venkatachalam and Principal Prof.S.Kuppusamy of Kongu Engineering College for accepting to host this prestigious student convention.
I extend my special thanks to the management committee members of SAEINDIA Southern Section Erode Division. Whatever request whenever we put before Dr.P.Navaneethakrishnan, the only statement from him was “Don’t worry… we will take care…!” with smile… The smile was even visible through the phone…Thank you sir.
I am sure, I will not be allowed to go home, if I am not mentioning “Swaram – The cultural troop” of Kongu Engineering College. It was a fantastic performance… All the tiredness disappeared in whisker… Thank you Swaram…
Accommodation, catering and transportation facilities was excellent… The food tasted yummy… I am afraid participants will refuse to vacate… Thanks to men behind the screen who made the stay here very pleasant for all of us.
We could witness student participation with lot of enthusiasm through the event. This stands as testimony and guarantee to bright future for the nation. I am thankful to all the participants for coming all the way and actively participating with Great Spirit.
We would also like to acknowledge our esteemed speakers of technology theatres who took the time out of their busy schedule and showered us with pearls of wisdom and knowledge. We are truly humbled by your presence. Thank you Mr.Kannan, Mr.Pradeep and Mr.Rohit Mallya.
Thanks to members of SAEINDIA office staff Mr.Nallaperumal, Mr.Swaminathan, Mr.Ashok, Mr.Vasu for their active support in preparation towards student convention.
Thanks to Student Executive Council members for preparing the questions towards preliminary which were used mixedly with ones prepared by KEC students.
We would like to acknowledge the time and efforts spared by eminent industrial persons who acted as judges from various industries like, Ashok Leyland, AVL ,BOSCH, CVRDE, Jayem Automotive, FIAT Chrysler, Mahindra& Mahindra, Rane, Renault Nissan, Sakthi Auto Components, Simpsons, TAFE and Visteon. Am sure the questions asked by your good selves would definitely probe the minds of student fraternity to think beyond boundaries. Thank you judges.
Our special thanks to Mr.S.Krishnan, Senior Vice President, Ashok Leyland for bringing out his magic wand in onboarding judges from various industries. Also special thanks to him for coming personally here to motivate us. Also extend of special thanks to Mr.K.Venkatraj, Deputy Director General, and SAEINDIA for gracing this occasion with his presence.
I would like to thank my fellow organising committee members Mr.Prince Packiaraj, Mr.Magesh and Mr.Bharathiraja for being part of this wonderful journey of organizing the student convention.
I will be failing in my duty if I am not thanking the faculty advisors of SAEINDIA Collegiate Clubs and faculty members of Kongu Engineering College who has played crucial role in smooth sailing of the event. I would like to thank them for conducting Tier 1.

Thanks to the conflict resolution team lead by Mr.Armstrong and members Prof. Rajendrian, Mr.Kasiraja, and Prof. Senthil who resolved the disputes.
Thanks to Dr.Senthil and Dr.Baskara Sethupathy for continuously auditing and monitoring the conduct of various events.
Last not the least, the soldiers on foot win the war for us. Yes, I am duty bound to put on record the excellent contributions by a young battalion of students and faculty from Kongu Engineering College who ensured no stones remain unturned to ensure the success of the student convention. I convey my thanks to student friends with folded hands for working so hard and ensuring the spectacular success of this event.
There are many many contributions and the list goes on for which the days are not sufficient…. I apologise if I have missed any names and wish a safe and happy return journey to my student friends and eminent dignitaries.

Champion, Student Convention
Student Convention is special in the Calendar of SAEINDIA Southern Section as this involves the stake holders of the future, our student community. During the past 10 years the convention has been growing in size and popularity as this enables us to engage large sections of our student members through competitions and events spread over 3 Tiers viz, College level(Tier 1), Divisional level (Tier 2) and Main Convention(Tier 3).
The convention keeps the following broad objectives:
- Celebration of Success (of yearlong activities that happen at collegiate clubs)
- Showcasing student abilities(Technical, Design, Fabrication, Problem Solving)
- Experience sharing and networking (belief in collective and fraternal growth)
- Motivating students to take up automotive sciences as career.
The Opportunities for Students/Colleges:
- Showcasing skills in the contests
- Exhibiting Collegiate Club achievements
- Exhibiting best student projects
- Appreciation of what other colleges and students do
- Networking
- Learning from Industry Volunteers
The Tier I and Tier II competitions have been successfully completed by all the Collegiate Clubs.
Tier III:
We are glad to inform you that SAEISS going to conduct the Student Convention 2016-17 at Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai, Erode on 25th & 26th February 2017.
Eligible participants from Tier II are requested to register online at SAEINDIA Southern Section website towards participating in the Student Convention.
Apart from the existing events where the winners of Tier 2 will compete, we will have 13 additional events in the student convention. All these 13 events are focused on creating a platform for engineering students to learn & understand various aspects of engineering and evolving trends. .
We request you to please share the information to all the SAEINDIA Student members in your respective clubs and encourage them to participate.

General Guidelines for additional events
- For each event max 2 teams per college are allowed to register.
- Each member can participate in 2 events only (One Event from 1st Day & one Event from 2nd day)
- The team size can be of max 4 members.
- All the team members must be SAEINDIA member or have applied for it.
- Registrations fee for each member is Rs. 100/- per competition.
- Only registered teams are allowed to compete on Student Convention.
- All the teams must adhere to the above guidelines.
- Food and accommodation are free for students coming from outstation.
- Accommodation will not be provided for students within 100Km of radius from KEC.
- Registration is mandatory for Participating in Surprise Events, Accommodation & Club Display.
- Registration should be completed before 21st Feb 2017.
