Mr. Renaud Meillier, Director – System Simulation Business Development, SIEMENS PLM Software was the key person for the Lecture Meeting on Model Based Systems Engineering & Simulation held on 8th July 2016, Friday at Siemens Industry Software, Guindy

He started his career at Imagine Company in 1998: after being a developer, a project engineer and the manager of a team in charge of Vehicle Energy Management System activity, Renaud Meillier became Product Management Director for Automotive, Other Ground Vehicles and Mechanical segments.

Mr. Renaud Meillier started the lecture by briefing about the Lab Amesim which offers engineers an integrated simulation platform to accurately predict the multidisciplinary performance of intelligent systems. LMS Amesim enables you to model, simulate and analyze multi-domain controlled systems and offers plant modeling capabilities to connect to controls design helping you assess and validate control strategies.

The LMS Amesim Platform is an open, powerful and user-friendly platform for multi-domain system modeling and analysis. It enables you to assess the functional performance of intelligent, mechatronic systems beginning in early development stages.

Meillier also gave an overview about the building blocks behind the Model Predictive Control method of Optimal Trajectory Planning for Driver Assistance System and urged the importance of simulation in automotive industry. He presented the simulation of Excavator which has been prepared for efficient way of handling the machine and also all the major simulation done by SIEMENS Vehicle Energy Management Test Centre and its capabilities to optimize seemingly conflicting requirements for fuel economy and drivability as well as noise, vibration and handling (NVH) comfort for next-generation systems and vehicles.
